Faculty-in-Residence Oberlin College Oberlin College: Faculty-in-Residence of Russian House and Lecturer in Russian The Department of Russian language, Literature and Culture at Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time position as Faculty-in-Residence and Lecturer in Russian. This is a 10-month, live-in-position, from August 15 to June 15. Major Responsibilities include: Teaching: three language courses per semester, totaling 6 class hours per week. Usually this includes Intermediate Russian Conversation (2 hrs.), Advanced Russian: Culture and Civilization (3 hrs.), and Advanced Russian Conversation (1 hr). Russian House:
It is expected that while College is in session the Faculty-in-Residence will live in Russian House (Allencroft), which is a co-educational residential hall for eighteen students, affiliated with the Russian Department. Requirements: M.A. in Russian or a closely related field, broad familiarity with Russian culture. Native or near-native fluency in Russian, experience in working with American undergraduate students, demonstrated interest and potential excellence in teaching undergraduates. In addition to a competitive salary, the Faculty-in-Residence will be provided with a small furnished apartment year-round, and s/he and immediate dependents will receive meals in the College dining halls while the College is in session. Additionally, s/he may take up to five credit hours in one course per semester. Also included are paid vacation and group health insurance.
